STELAR Project

Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE)

Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE) specializes in engineering science and technology,
focusing on:

  • science for society – solving major societal issues and boosting prosperity and welfare;
  • science for industry – the development of technological innovation in cooperation with industry;
  • science for science – progress in engineering sciences through excellence in research and innovation.

Through cutting-edge research, TUE contributes to the progress of technical sciences and thus the development of technological innovations. TUE is a constant presence in the top of various rankings, all acknowledging the research carried out in collaboration with industry, and currently manages more than 150 EU funded projects.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has almost 300 academic staff, and over 150 doctoral students. As part of Brainport, the ‘smartest’ region of the world, the department frequently enters into special collaborative partnerships with companies and government authorities. TUE participates in STELAR with its Database Group, which studies core engineering and foundational challenges in scalable and effective management of Big Data.

Role in the project

TUE will mainly contribute in WPs 2, 3 and 4, leading the tasks on data summarization and correlation discovery, with particular focus on the integration and annotation of time series data.
