The STELAR project recently participated in the European Big Data Value Forum 2024, contributing to the session “Leveraging Technologies for Data Management to Implement Data Spaces” held on 4 October.
This event brought together key European projects under the “2021-Data-01-03” call, offering a platform to discuss cutting-edge solutions and innovations in data management and data spaces.
The session, led by Eloisa Vargiu from Cetaqua, Water Technology Centre, showcased a range of initiatives, including WATERVERSE EU, GREEN.DAT.AI, enRichMyData, SEDIMARK, and DataBri-X.
These projects are all working towards one common goal: advancing technologies that can transform the future of data operations. The diversity in approaches showcased the complementarities of each project while reflecting on how they align toward the same broader mission.
The session explored the various technologies and approaches enabling efficient data sharing and collaboration across sectors, focusing on how these innovations contribute to the development of future data spaces.
Dimitris Skoutas, STELAR’s project coordinator from the Athena Research Center, offered valuable insights during the session by presenting STELAR’s unique approach to Knowledge Lakes. He emphasised how these systems can enhance the development of the agrifood data space, allowing seamless data sharing and integration across the agrifood sector.
STELAR’s work focuses on making data more Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR), positioning it as a cornerstone for shaping the future of agrifood data solutions.
The session not only focused on technological advancements but also sparked discussions around potential joint activities among the projects. The attendees brainstormed ideas for future collaborations aimed at further integrating their technological approaches.
It was a pleasure to be part of the European Big Data Value Forum, a vital platform for sharing insights and fostering collaborations that drive innovation in data management and technology.
